The Outcomes Management Program was designed to measure the effectiveness of the therapeutic and rehabilitative activities
of NPP. Also, objectives are to assess the quality of the interactions of the personnel with patients. The program therefore
has four major components the Client Satisfaction Surveys, a Treatment Program Effectiveness Evaluation, the before and
After Outcome Assessment and a Summary of Program Activity Statistics.
The methodology and procedures of this evaluation program is outlined in the NPP Policies and Procedures Manual. The time
demands in a busy clinical service such as ours, the technical and staff requirements and the expense involved any outcome
study place limitations. However, we are satisfied with the level of reliability and validity of the data collected. Notwithstanding
the fact that the data generated offers only trends and are not amenable to statistical analyses, the information raises issues
clinical relevance. The information also is useful to define and refine the goals of the program and provide support for clinical
management decisions.
