The Narcotics Prevention Program is devoted to the treatment
and rehabilitation of men and women dependent on heroin and/or prescription opiates’. Narcotic replacement
therapies with methadone or buprenorphine are used as appropriate. Generic and
brand name buprenorphine are prescribed.Care is provided to persons older than 18 regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation or religious persuasion. Pregnant women have full access to our program and special attention is given to their
special circumstances and needs.
A plan of recovery is designed for each patient. Persons who have become dependent on narcotics usually need to address personal issues
involving those close to them such as family, friends, their employers or the law. Certified
counselors and medical and nursing personnel provide counseling. Mental health
services are available. Treatment is coordinated with the patients’ primary
care physician if requested.
The program coordinates its services through networking
with State Parole, Los Angeles County Probation, Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation,
as well as with other community social and medical services programs.
